Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963, to a musically inclined family in Newark New Jersey is the daughter of Gospel star Cissy Houston and John Russell Houston Jr. They are also close relatives of singing sensation Dionne Warwick. She began singing in the choir of her church The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark when she was a child and by the age of 15 was singing backing vocals professionally along with their mother in Chaka Khan's hit song from 1978 Im Every Woman. Her mother, Jermaine and Lou Rawls were among those who she sang with. In 1981 her cover was featured on the cover of Seventeen Magazine. In 1983, Material, the New York City funk-rock band Material recruited her to be their featured singer. Their quality was what attracted her to the major label Arista. Whitney Houston was her debut album. Whitney Houston was released in 1985, and was the most-seller album by the debut artist. Several hit singles including The Greatest Love of All, Saving My Love For You How Will I Know You Give Good Love as well as The Most Beautiful Love of All were released from the album, setting her up to smash the Beatles record with seven consecutive US number ones. Album sold in US 3,000,000 copies and then went to 25,000,000 globally. This was her first win in the six Grammys she has won. Its Whitney 1987 album, which included The Place You Do Broken Hearts and I Wanna Dance With Somebody as hits, helped build upon the success she had achieved. It is The Bodyguard 1992 which cemented her status as one of the world's most popular artists. While the film wasn't an immediate success, nor was her performance, but the score of her Dolly Parton version I Will Always Love You hit the top spot on the single and album charts in the US for months. She sold over 44,000,000 albums across the globe. In 1993, it was also when she got married Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition musician and father of the sole child of her marriage, Bobbi Kristina Brown. It was in the middle of 1993 and by 1996, she had been a frequent user.
Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchorperson, reporter as well as a political correspondent. Her weekend programs are Evans & Novak Late Edition, Inside Politics and Inside Politics. Her previous work was with NBC, CBS and other prominent channels.
