Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. He blends soul gospel jazz and R&B to create a unique mixture. From Broadway to European festival and clubs, the singer has done work across the globe. Sunshine was born Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop the musical profession by as a singer and pianist in a church. She attended Spellman College and began to study the R&B style of Atlanta. The first track to showcase her vocals was Stalk You, a Japanese house 12 song. It was remixed and has become a element of her repertoire. The Fighting Temptations was the other soundtrack she sang on. In 2005, she was commissioned as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to be the director of the choral group for this theatrical production. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention during four daily performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
