Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz is her father and Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder believes she is Jewish, is descended from Ryder's Jewish father. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder as well as her entire family relocated to California's Mendocino County at the age of seven. Ryder was only seven years old. At the time, there wasn't electricity. Ryder was a prolific reader because of the lack of television. Ryder aged 12 was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. At the age of 15years old, Ryder was offered her very first role onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder endured bullying while in high school. Ryder hoped her career as an actress could make a difference. However, the plan didn't pan out. But she continued to chase her dreams. In 1988, she received her breakthrough role in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder played roles that were successful in several movies. Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards one for her part on The Age of Innocence (1993).
